Alex Orlando is a Berkeley-based narrative writer and multimedia expert with over 5 years of experience reporting on science and medicine. He is currently a master's candidate at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. His work has been featured in San Francisco Magazine, TMC Pulse and Bay Area Bandwidth.
Alex was a member of the founding team of TMC Pulse, the official news publication for the world's largest medical complex: the Texas Medical Center. In addition working as a reporter for Pulse, Alex was also the senior writer for the Texas Medical Center's Innovation Institute.
Prior to that, Alex lived in Chilgok-gun, South Korea for nearly a year and taught English to both children and adults. He has continued to work with Hartford HealthCare, where he began his career in science writing as a college student, for many years.
Alex received a B.A. from Saint Michael's College in English Literature. Whenever he is not writing, he is picking up a new book or traveling to a new place.
